HIGH MANGANESE STEEL (HADFIELD STEEL) :

High manganese is excellent and economical steel plate for machinery manufacturing which is required high-impact resistant and high-pressure facilities.

Sheffield 14% Manganese is a true Hadfield Austenitic Manganese steel for resistance to severe impact and abrasive wear. This product will work harden in service up to 550 BHN. Because this product hardens under cold work conditions care should be taken when forming, drilling or machining is being considered.

Sheffield 14% Manganese can be welded with standard manganese electrodes. Please use only certified personnel who are familiar working with this type of material. Drilling is not recommended for this product.

Manganese is gray-white metal with a pinkish tinge, and a very brittle but hard metallic element. Manganese is a reactive element that easily combines with water and air. It is a steel with a relatively large component about 10-14% of manganese; highly resistant to wear and shock.

The original austentic manganese steel, containing about 1.2%C and 12% Mn.

Jaws of crushers, hammers of pulverizers, cutting edges of large excavators, liner of shot blasting units, screen shot blasting cabinets and furniture, anti-drill plate, magnetic separators and the metal, elevator buckets, dredger teeth, bucket links, track rollers, armour plate for safes, reinforcement panels for strong rooms, jail bars, railway rolling stock axel box liners.
